Durga Temple

Alternate Text This ancient temple of Goddess Durga is housed in a natural Cave. The idol has been shifted from the cave to a newly constructed temple here. Stone carvings of Gupta period, engraved on the walls of the cave, are of considerable antiquity. This temple also finds its description in Puranas.

The temple is made by Gusai Kawalyapuri who rides a soil elephant. Here Maa Durga’s idol is placed upon a lotus flower which is placed over a shivling. Here Maa Durga is known as Jaya Sundari or Brahmcharanani and rides upon a flying lion.
